Resources Creation

Units, drivers, and geofences are initially created in the AVL system. Users then transition to the Route application to define routes, assign job orders, monitor real-time performance, and optimize operations effectively.

Adding Units

  1. Click on the + sign to add a new unit.

  2. Select the device type (e.g., GPS or Fixed Unit).

  3. Enter the unit's name (typically corresponding to the plate number).

  4. Specify the Device Protocol, which serves as a decoder for signals received from the assigned device.

  5. Input the IMEI, which functions as the device's unique identifier.

  6. Provide additional details, including the Operation Code, Device Password, Device Serial, SIM Card Number, and SIM Card Serial.

  7. Specify the Odometer reading (total kilometers traveled by the unit) using one of the following methods:

o GPS: Manually enter the total kilometers (typically provided by the technician during device installation).

o CAN.Bus: The odometer value is automatically retrieved and recorded in the system.

  8. Specify the Engine Hours (total hours the engine has been operational) using one of the following methods:

o ACC: Manually enter the total engine hours.

o CAN.Bus: The engine hours are automatically retrieved and recorded in the system.

  9. Click Save to finalize.

To streamline the process and avoid creating units manually one by one, users can import them in bulk by following these steps:

  1. Click the import button located in the Units table header.

  2. Select Import to add new units, then click Next.

  3. Click the Download Template button to download the template in Excel format.

  4. Fill in the required data following the template structure, then save the file. 5.Upload the completed Excel file and click Proceed to Validate.

Adding Drivers

  1. Go to the Resources section and select Drivers.

  2. Click on the + icon to add a new driver.

  3. Enter the required details, including the driver's name in English and Arabic, phone number, National ID, description, iButton, RFID, address, email, username, password, and other necessary information. Upload a photo of the driver, if available.

  4. If you want to add the driver to a group, click on the Driver Groups tab and make the selection.

  5. If you need to assign access permissions, click on the Access tab and configure the driver’s access to specific users.

  6. Click Save to add the new driver to the list.

Adding Geofences

  1. Head to the Geofences section.

  2. Click on the + icon to add a new geofence.

  3. Enter the main information for the geofence, including the name, zone group, type, and color. If the geofence is a personal location, such as a driver’s home or neighborhood, toggle the Personal Points option.

  4. Draw the geofence by left clicking on the map.

  5. To finalize drawing, left click again if the geofence is a circle, or double-click if the geofence is a line or a polygon.

  6. Click Save to add the new geofence to the list.

Transition to Route

To access the Route application and migrate created assets from AVL to Route, click the grid icon, which represents the User Apps. Then, select Route from the available applications.
